According to the duo, who are currently promoting their newly released single Zanku, they had to hide from their mother for weeks when they initially braided their hair because they did not know how she was going to react to their new hairstyle.

The duo also stated that someone informed their mother of their new hairstyle so she baited them with food just to confirm what she had heard.

“Some people in the neighbourhood had seen us with a new hairstyle. Yes we had braided our hair so they informed our mum. Knowing us, she did not believe what she had heard so she intentionally cooked our favourite meal and invited us home to eat. In fact, we went home with caps on our heads,” they said.

” We dearly love and appreciate her. She is so proud of our achievements and she is now one of our critics. She follows all our shows and interviews on television and radio. She has not been to our live performances yet so we are planning to take her along one of these days,” they added.

Commenting on the four VGMA nominations they had, the duo were convinced of winning at least two of the categories namely group of the year and best african collaboration of the year.
